Go away girl, go away
And let me pack my dreams.
Now where did I put those yesteryears
Made up with broken seams.
Where shall I sweep the pieces
My God they still look new.
There's a taxi waiting at the door
But there's only room for you.

I cannot stand for one more minute
Your toe clippings on the floor;
I thought that you were the man of my dreams
And that you I could adore.
**
I look into my rear view mirror
And see you standing there;
I've got to leave I'm sorry girl
I really don't know where.

Why can't we get all the people together in the world
that we really like and then just stay together?
I guess that wouldn't work.
Someone would leave.
Someone always leaves.
Then we would have to say good-bye.
I hate good-byes.
I know what I need.
I need more hellos.

Goodbye Poems

Nothing makes the earth seem so spacious as to have friends at a distance; they make the latitudes and longitudes.

Saying goodbye is never easy
It's the hardest thing to do;
But what hurts even more
Is not the chance to say it to you.

Farewell, My Friends.
My friends to you I bid goodbye
To the friendship that brought me sky;
The year has been swell
As if coming from a wishing well.
But as all things do
I have to bid adieu;
How it pains me to
But there's nothing I can do.
Thank you for the memories
The laughter and the tears;
They'll linger in my heart
As if we never part.
If by chance we meet again
May it be full of blessings in the rain;
Yet for now all that I can say
Is to God for you I'll pray.

Through The Years
You helped me laugh
You dried my tears;
Because of you I have no fears.
Together we live
Together we grow;
Teaching each other what we must know
You came in my life and I was blessed.
I love you friend you are the best.
Release my hand and say good-bye
Please my friend don't you cry;
I promise you this it's not the end
'cause like I said you're my friend.

Remembering My Thoughts of You
God sent me an Angel to call my very own,
I thought we'll always be together from this day on.
I remember all the good times
and the awesome lovemaking we shared.
All the hopes and dreams we had,
nothing in my life could ever compare
I will always remember your sweet Angelic face,
With a smile brighter than the sun light,
with such beauty and grace.
There will always be a place
deep down in my heart,
a special place where only you
will occupy that part.
I remember the way your body felt
as I held you close to me.
In my heart and in my soul
is where you belong and will always be.

The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be the beginning.
Ivy Baker Priest
Absence from whom we love is worse than death, and frustrates hope severer than despair.
William Cowper
Sorry that you're leaving,
Glad it's only for a while
It will only be a short time
Until we see, again, your smile
You know we're going to miss you
You'll be back.. we're not sure when
So enjoy your new motherhood
Until you're with us, once again

Goodbye Friend
~~~~
I know that we will meet again
It will come as a surprise;
I don't know where or when
You'll be standing in front of my eyes.
But for now it's a goodbye to you
And another goodbye from him;
If you tell us where you are
We just may turn up on a whim!
**
I will miss you very much
Many miles there are to the moon
But we can see it every night;
No matter where we stand on earth
We can see it nice and bright.
Our connection will stretch that far
And we will only have to look;
Knowing that you can see it too
And our friendship can't unhook.
So Goodbye for now my friend
For we will always be;
Sharing a special something
That no one else can see.
I can't believe you've suffered to
Why didn't you say so before;
I didn't know how to tell you
That I wanted out that door.
So at least we agree on something
It's funny but it's true;
We haven't managed that before
We're ending on a coup!
Farewell, adieu and toodle-oo
I'm leaving here at noon;
I've got to go into the big wide world
Not stay here with this silver spoon.
Being my own man will make me feel
Like an adult in my own right;
I can't thank you enough for all you've done
But I need to rise to my full height.
**
I don't know how to tell you this
But I'm really not very well;
So please forgive me for leaving you
Doctor said there's no choice to tell.
The treatment will be very harsh
I'll feel better on my own;
I will be back I'm sure of that
I really mustn't moan.
**
This leaving poem is hurting me
I know it will hurt you too;
I've thought and prayed
But there's nothing else to do.
No more words that can tell
Each other how we feel;
We've said it all a few times now
As it is now time to kneel.
My service to my country
Is something that I must do;
But will you marry me before I go
As I am so in love with you!
Goodbye Poems
**
I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.
Gilda Radner
Not time yet to say Farewell to the Good-bye Leaving Verses Quotes
Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart.
Washington Irving
Farewell! a word that must be, and hath been -
A sound which makes us linger; - yet - farewell!
Lord Byron
Goodbye, goodbye, I hate the word. Solitude has long since turned brown and withered, sitting bitter in my mouth and heavy in my veins.
R.M. Grenon
Missing someone gets easier every day because even though it's one day further from the last time you saw each other, it's one day closer to the next time you will.
Farewell!
For in that word - that fatal word - howe'er
We promise - hope - believe - there breathes despair.
Lord Byron
Let's not unman each other - part at once;
All farewells should be sudden, when forever,
Else they make an eternity of moments,
And clog the last sad sands of life with tears.
Lord Byron
Goodbye Poems
I write this to my daddy
With my eyes so full of tears;
That I can't see you ever
Even after all these years.
You've gone on somewhere without me
That I duly cannot follow;
I wish, I wish I could
I'd follow you tomorrow.
**
Sadness overwhelms me and the grief is hard to bear
I haven't spoke like this before, I just wouldn't dare;
It's too late now to make amends and say what should've been
All the warning signs were there I really should've seen.
You hadn't been yourself for quite a while I thought it was just old age
Maybe if we'd been closer I'd have seen the writing on the page;
Children should be seen not heard was my life times tail
With no relief and no closure now I'm left to wail.
I haven't got passed the end of the street
Where we played together as kids;
The rows of terraced houses
Sliding down the hill on dustbin lids.
We've been together since way back when
I can't remember you not being at my side;
But I must leave and say Goodbye
As you've refused to become my bride.
I wish you well I really do
but I cannot stand and watch;
You throw your life away with him
Our chances now are botched.
**
I've got to leave
I've got to go;
I cannot stay another minute
I'm sorry
I really am
That's ok tho' innit!
**
Sorry you are leaving,
We're sad to see you go,
When you feel homesick,
We're always here you know
Don't forget to keep in touch,
By post, letter or phone,
But of course we'd love to see you,
There's no place like home!
Goodbye Leaving Verses Poems
To see the back of you will be a dream come true
You've made these last months for me
Pretty much a living hell;
So off you go don't bother looking back
I'm sure you'll meet someone else that you
Can torture just as well.
**
Our dreams come true, our boat's come in
Wish us well and happiness through and through;
I know it's the other side of the world
But a holiday destination now for you.
Goodbye for now we're on our way
We'll phone as soon as poss;
So don't you worry your little heads
Otherwise we will get cross.
No more hugs or choking up
Our hearts are now so heavy;
That boarding cards to go on board
We need another bevvie!
**
I didn't think I'd feel like this
As it's me that's leaving you;
But this new job is far away
And there's nothing I can do.
This step up the ladder of success
I cannot leave undone;
But I will miss you there is no doubt
We sure have had lots of fun.
Part of me feels heavy
The rest feels very light;
If I stay much longer
I'll cry with all my might.
**
I'm riding off into the sunset
I've got to go alone;
In fact I don't know just how long?
Or if I'm coming home.
So I'll leave you now
Before too much gets said;
As you're looking at me with those eyes
And we might land up in bed.
Bye Bye for now as I've got to go
It's now or never, do or die for me;
If only I'd met you years ago
I'd have given you the key.
My heart is now locked
My journey sealed in fate;
I'll let you know just how things go
If you're still here on my return - well that would be just great!
**
Gone - flitted away,
That's how the story goes;
I'm off to go to war
I've wanted to be in the army
Ever since I was four.
I know that you will worry
But I'm doing what I want;
I'll be well trained before
They send me to the front.
Thank you for your loving care
You've been fabulous both of you;
No one could wish for better
You're simply the best you two.
Leaving Verses
You're leaving now to go to school
Although you're only four;
I'll miss you all day long you know
Until you come home through that door.
We've been very close since you came
Building up such rappor;
Your Mommy can't be with you now
But you she would've adored.
So Daddy will wait for you
By the big school gate;
I'll be there dead on time
And yes I'll bring your mate.
Short Leaving Verses
I step aside for less experience
My knowledge lost on you;
But it's time to go
My working life all through.
**
I remember thinking goodbyes are hard
God dammit I was right!
I've been thinking about this long and hard
In fact I've been up all night.
**
As one door closes another one appears
So I've enjoyed this space;
The bit that's been between them
And looking at your face.
The door is closing I know not why
I've got to go through it now;
I can't stay and feel locked in
So from your life I'll bow.
**
I've got to go, go now, go now
These famous words are said;
It's too late otherwise
You'll soon be in your bed.
**
I mustn't stay you know to well
The trouble that will be;
Our parents aren't too happy
That there is a you and me
**
Bye, bye for now I'm going on my way
As luck would have it I will be back this way on saturday!
**
I'm left and will be bereft
At the thought of leaving you alone;
But only a few weeks away
And I'll be coming home.
**
May you always be so cheery
And laughter fill your days;
All problems disappear fast
And happiness come your way.
I'll see you soon but now must wend
My weary, weary way!
Short Leaving Verses
This has got to end
There is no other way;
I'm sorry but that's how it is
I'll see you around someday.
**
I've packed my bags
And I'm ready to go;
I'm leaving you for good
But this you already know.
It's very sad it's worked out this way
But life didn't go according to plan;
It was good while it lasted
But I will never be your man.
**
Toodle-oo and toodle-pip
I'm leaving you today;
I've finished with all this
There's nothing left to say.
**
Have a good day! Is what is said
I know this to be true;
I've been here long enough now
And I'm leaving you!
**
I've got to go, so kiss the kids
I can't bear to see their faces;
I'll be coming home I'm sure I will
But I think that they are all Aces.
I'm creeping out, it's only 4
The morning is still dark;
When I come home I'll hold you all
Taking the kids back down the park.
**
I want to say this is the end
This is the last Goodbye;
I take one look at your little face
And then I heave a sigh!
I don't love your mom anymore
I'm sorry darling but it's true;
That's not the important thing
The important one is YOU!
I love you more than words can say
But I really have to go;
I'll call round twice a week
So I can watch you grow.
Off to the park sometimes
Others into town;
You'll need things new now'n'again
Or the circus for the clowns.
Maggie-May
**
Stone walls have made a prison
I have to escape away;
My heart I may leave behind
But live to see another day.
I like you but I'm not in love
I know that's what you need;
So leaving will be best all round
In fact a gallant deed!
**
Dear Mom and Dad I'm leaving
I'm going away tonight
I'm off to go get married;
As I've met my Mr Right.
I know you will be nonplussed
As you had made many plans;
But they are yours not mine
I want to be with this man.
So thank you but I know
You'd try to stop me if you could;
Forgive me and I'll be back
As I know I should.
I love you both so very much
You've been so wonderful to me;
As soon as I feel the time is right
I'll be back you just wait and see.
Maggie-May
**
With a teardrop in my eye
I am here to say Goodbye;
I won't make it back to see
You as I'm that kind of guy!
But I will be thinking of you
As you've reached into my heart;
On every step of my journey
I feel sad that we had to part.
Sad Goodbye Poems
DOES HEAVEN HAVE A PHONE NUMBER?
Mommy went to Heaven, but I need her here today,
My tummy hurts and I fell down; I need her right away,
Operator, can you tell me how to find her in this book?
Is heaven in the yellow part? I don't know where to look.
I think my daddy needs her too; at night I hear him cry.
I hear him call her name sometimes, but I really don't know why.
Maybe if I call her, she will hurry home to me.
Is Heaven very far away, is it across the sea?
She's been gone a long, long time; she needs to come home now!
I really need to reach her, but I simply don't know how.
Help me find the number please, is it listed under "Heaven"?
I can't read these big, big words; I am only seven.
I'm sorry, operator, I didn't mean to make you cry,
Is your tummy hurting too, or is there something in your eye?
If I call my church maybe they will know.
Mommy said when we need help, that's where we should go.
I found the number to my church tacked up on the wall.
Thank you operator, I'll give them a call.
You're off to go I know not where
I'm still here always left behind;
But rather that than not in your life
In that sort of case I don't really mind.
The emptiness hangs over me
I don't know what to do;
My life is just a shadow
When I'm left here wthout you!
Why did you leave me here in the cold
with nobody to care and nobody to hold
There was no tears and no goodbye
I couldn't show it but I was hurting inside
I begged you to stay, I was only four
But already I knew I couldn't take it
They may be blue skies up above
But they are a different blue in here;
I feel so sad and empty
I'll have to see a seer.
I can't believe that you're not here
I'm left behind all lonely and bereft;
You were the last of the family
And now I'm all that's left.
**
Dear Dad, I'm on my way
I will still visit you;
I've got my career going up
And I've lots and lots to do.
It won't be very often
More miles from where I'll be;
So you look after yourself
I'll get there wait and see.
Goodbye Dad Poems
**
You were a lovely father
A brilliant Dad to me;
I followed your example
For all the world to see.
I will miss you very much
You filled my life with love;
I know you will watch over me
Keeping me covered from above.
**
My dad never told a lie
Not that he was aware;
Honest as the day was long
Argue with him I wouldn't dare.
I miss you already Dad
It's only been a day;
So this is the big Goodbye
I don't know what to say.
**
Dad I love you, you know that don't you
But I love my Mom even more;
The divorce has upset her greatly
If she knows I see you; it'll make her sore.
So this Goodbye I hope will end
At some time in the future;
But for now that's how it is
Keeping the peace-you've been my tutor!
We've all been a happy throng.
We wish you well and
That your new home be nice;
But not overpriced.
I'm leaving home now mom and dad
I've got a pad somewhere to call my own
I'll make as much mess as I want;
Somewhere that will be my home.
You've sheltered me for to long now
I've driven you mad over the years
With my dirty socks and messy room
I know mom I've driven you to tears.
So celebrate! Your home is now your own
For things to stay so nice and clean;
Peace and quiet long overdue
No longer feeling like my canteen.
Good Luck in your new country
I wish you well in your new life and your new country
I think you're very brave
All new friends and a different way of life
A place for me I hope you'll save.
I'll be over to visit you
As soon as soon can be;
Just to make sure your alright
And with my own eyes to see.
It will be cooler or so I'm told
Different clothing and sports too;
Music tastes and foods will differ
An adventure just for you.
Emigrating? Well what ever next
I think it's cool going off like you two are;
Very brave that's what I think
Starting all anew in a country that's so far.
All the Aussies love the Pommes
Or that's what we are told;
I'm not sure just how true that is
They're stories from of old.
Well we all loved you but you're going
So maybe you'll be back;
Otherwise we'll be getting messages
Saying "I'm alright Jack"
Leaving Poems
~~~~
So a new job well I never
You lucky thing you've landed on your feet;
We wish you well but miss you too
We hope you'll be alreet!
More money and a company car
That's got to be a good step up;
The corporate ladder my friend
Drinking from the high flyers cup!
Congratulations

Well done success has reached you now
A brand new job this time;
You're young and at the very start
Up the ladder you will climb.
Techy things are moving fast
So your training is intense;
You'll have to work very hard
But your success will be immense.
We always knew you had it in you
But we did worry from time to time;
As computers seemed to consume
Whilst you are in your prime.

What shall I do with all the days and hours
That must be counted ere I see thy face?
How shall I charm the interval that lowers
Between this time and that sweet time of grace?

This leaving poem is hurting me
I know it will hurt you too;
I've thought and prayed
But there's nothing else to do.
No more words that can tell
Each other how we feel;
We've said it all a few times now
As it is now time to kneel.
My service to my country
Is something that I must do;
But will you marry me before I go
As I am so in love with you!

One kind kiss before we part,
Drop a tear, and bid adieu;
Though we sever, my fond heart
Till we meet shall pant for you.
